Being Positive
Choices
Unschooling involves making many small choices every day, and providing opportunities for kids to make choices.
One Important part of this choicemaking, for unschooling parents, is to become the sort of person you want your child to be.
You probably don't want your child to suffer or to struggle.
Someone I know and love wrote to me recently about suffering this thing, and struggling with that thing. Re-cast, re-phrase, re-arrange, change the lighting. Same you, same life, less negativity.
In another post someone wrote, in two adjoining statements:
-=-I was sickened to learn of these requirements...-=-
and
-=-I despise the idea of organized education-=-
I don't think it would be a goal of hers to find things to sicken her children, or for them to despise.
Say I'm standing In poop, and let other people know that I was suffering from poop on my shoes, and struggling with how to deal with the smell, and I was sickened to know the poop was right there, and I despised the idea of poop.
Please, please advise me to step away from the poop, rinse my feet off, do something entirely non-poop-related to distract myself, not to dwell on the poop, nor to keep repeating the story of it.
A pile of poop is not unschooling.
There are many places to stand in the world that are clean and sweet-smelling and dry.

Gratitude and Abundance would help, too.
