Sandra Dodd

I've been in Australia for a month. I wasn't able to get to all the chats, because noon at my house (when the Wednesday chats start) is 4:00 or 5:00 in Australia (I've been in three time zones). 4:00 in the morning, Thursday, for a Wednesday chat, I mean.

So because the chats have regular attendees and various drop-ins, three nice people agreed to be "guest stars."

Marta Pires has (quickly and generously) edited all the transcripts.

You can read them here, featuring Pam Sorooshian, Alex Polikowsky and Deb Lewis:

This Wednesday/tomorrow I will be in the chat (from a motel room at 4:00 a.m. Queensland time), and next Wednesday I will be in my own front room or kitchen, in Albuquerque. I have retreated from human companionship to hide by myself and sleep more and not need to talk to anyone or to think clearly, until I can recover from a month of more humidity, insect bites and socializing than I could handle. I told Keith that I know he needs time alone every day, but apparently it takes me 25 days to need time alone. :-)

Notes on future chats are here, and you can subscribe to get reminders.

Sandra we are so thankful for your presence in Australia. It was enormously worthwhile to drive two days from Longreach to come see you and Schuyler and David and learn more and make some new unschooling friends. We feel so much less remote now, even though we are remote geographically speaking. THANKYOU 😊

If I am up at 4 am how do I be part of the chat in the morning.  I haven't been part of them before because I never got to figuring the time zone difference.

I hope someone who has joined the chat lately will confirm or amend this.

In a Chatzy room, which is here: http://us4.chatzy.com/unschooling

The password is goodidea

Please choose a color other than green for your user name.
I dibs green for the host color.
Use more than just a first name, for clarity, if your name is common; we have duplicates.

The chat sometimes goes quickly. To get it to be still so you can read back, click "Save/Print" on the lefthand side. That will open a file you don't need to save or print. You can read it while it's still and then use "return" to get back into the flow.

____________

I don't think you need to register at Chatzy to get in there, but when you get in they'll want the password and for you to choose a color.

When you click on the chat, you'll be seeing it, but you still need to click "enter the chat" (or "join the chat") at the bottom of the page, if you want to post within the discussion rather than send a note to the discussion.   (It looks different, if you're not IN there.)

Oh. :-)
And I'm really glad to know it was worth the long drive.  I hope lots of friendships were made and the ideas will be shared back and forth as families need encouragement. :-)
And then there's THIS discussion! :-)
