The U.S. Amazon site has (in some irritating move) put seven copies of my book up for half price.

I wrote and asked them why, and asked them not to, and after several e-mails was told that it was just two copies that were "lost" from the inventory I sent them, and that they had reimbursed me. They sent the note, saying they had reimbursed me for two.

Now it lists seven.

It's odd, it's weird, but I would rather people who read Always Learning buy them than strangers at random. :-)

I was thinking of lowering the price to $20, to get my Amazon inventory moved, lest they charge me storage, because their rates have gone up for such direct sales. But Still, even at $20, nobody will buy one from me while they're selling it for $12.70.

It's listed as Amazon Prime, so if you need a Christmas gift for a new unschooling friend, there's that.

European Amazon outlets have a direct deal with lulu, where if you buy one in Europe they do a print-on-demand deal, so those are cheaper than mine, too. I ordered paper copies from Lulu and then shipped those in boxes to Amazon warehouses. BIG pain in the butt. And now Amazon does this tricksy little move. :-)

Thank you!  I have wanted my own copy of this book for quite some time.  Just ordered one. Merry Christmas to me!

Hi Sandra,

Thank you for the info. I have wanted this book for a long time and just bought as a gift for myself for Christmas (my only gift actually). I am so excited to finally get a copy. I have been unschooling for over 30 years and discovered/subscribed to  your sites a few years ago.

Thank you so much for all that you do for the unschooling community! Happy Holidays!

Sandie

Merry Christmas. :-)

Yesterday, after seeing this message, I 'hinted' towards my husband that if he wanted an easy present idea for me that here is was and it was accidentally at half price. His response surprised me in two awesome ways. He said 'Oh, I know I already ordered it.' So, not only am I getting this for Christmas but I also found out that my husband has a subscription to AlwaysLearning. It's been a long road for us with unschooling. So finding out that he sought a subscription, on his own, to further his knowledge has made my day. :) Happy Holidays!!
