My 8 yr old daughter loves to learn in these ways:

1. letterboxing- learns reading, critical thinking, science and more.

2. baking cupcakes- learns math (measurements, time)and artistic skills.
3. planetarium- learns astrology
4. zoo- learns about animals (so we incorporate animals with backbones in this trip and ask questions for logic as well).
5. library- learns reading, navigation, and more.
6. grandparents- learns history as she asks about their childhood and interests. also- her grandmother has books on american indians and egypt and shows them to her and tells her info.
7. pen pals- learns cursive writing and more.
8. v-tech/computer- leanrs whatever disc she puts in (ie: language arts, math, comprhension, etc...)
9. classics for kids (local radio podcast)- learns about classical music and composers...listens to classics on car trips with family.
10. crocheting, painting, sculptures, arts and crafts- learning art concepts.
11. riding her bike, swimming, dog walking, the park- exercise/health
12. gardening- learns plants/plant life
