**I don't miss the smell of NM any time of the year! But then I lived

in Clovis where it always stinks! yuck! I don't ever want to live

near cows again.**

Did you ever notice all the detergents and air fresheners and such like that
claim to leave a "country fresh" smell in your clothes/house/hair? Apparently
those ad writers haven't ever actually BEEN in the country, cause those
things never smell like pig farms or spoiled hay or chicken houses or stables
or farm dogs or even like a pond on a hot day. They don't even come close to
smelling like real country right after the rains when everything really does
smell fresh and crisp.

My kids now are arguing over what "sunshine" is supposed to smell like, after
settling their debate over whether "rain" is actually a scent.

LOL I've seen incense and candles and shampoo labeled
"rain". Do you suppose they smell like chlorine and
ketsup? chlorinated ketsup hair?

Just a few hours after a rain in our part of the
country is when things tend to smell the worst.
Heavily organically fertilized mud in the heat.....

I was reading harrypotter last night, book two. I was very sleepy and
read the sentence "Rain was still lashing the windows..." I'm trying
figure out how come Rain is in the book, and why she was lashing the
windows... I shouldn't read when I'm that tired.

I can't imagine it would be a really big seller ;-)

"Desert Rain" should smell like sweat, then...

It rained the other day after a long time of drought. We could smell it
coming. So they decided, yes, rain is a scent. :)

Julian just got a bag of Bertie Botts beans. We both tried Black pepper (odd,
but I didn't hate it. Julian did.), and Grass (not bad, really). Then this
morning Julian got Sardine. (We made sure ahead of time it was vegetarian).
He was horrified.

Black pepper is my second favorite flavor, next to popcorn. I even trade
away cotton candy and tutti fruitti for pepper.

Dar, who passes the Jelly Belly factory in fairfield frequently - free
tours and jelly flops for cheap!
