Several of you have expressed interest in coming to
the Party in the Woods, but only one has confirmed
dates. So she is the only one to know FOR SURE that I
will be here when she and her boys arrive!! May 6
through May 9 or 10, if you would like you visit to
coincide, that would be great. Other times are good
too. There is a family that suggested the first week
of May, and another a later date. ?????????

It is hot already. We had a cold front come through,
so it was only 85F, this afternoon. Bring bug
repellant. Camping gear, Fishing stuff, if you like,
canoe or kayak, or raft, or ?

Please let me hear from you, soon, off list, so that I
can be sure to not be gone (on one of those day trips,
or down at the river, or ?)

I have to agree! We didn't make it to Houston, so I don't know much about
that.
But San Antonio we loved. The riverwalk and Alamo were awesome.

New Orleans of course. Haven't made it there yet myself, but dh says it's a
blast. Very different culture and TONS to do. I figure everyone should walk
Bourbon street at least once in their lives.

Yep -

New Orleans is the place to go! I don't remember how far from New
Orleans proper you have to go, but who could resist going on those
alligator boat rides where they feed the alligators marshmallows?

My kids are so weird - I gave them a choice of 3 vacation spots this
year - Texas/Louisiana, Puerto Rico, or Disney. Two voted for
Texas/Louisiana and two voted for Puerto Rico. Nobody gave Disney as
their first choice!

Oh, and before you head to Texas, make sure you practice saying "ya'll".
First sign you're a tourist - saying "you guys"!

LOL! Laurel. :-) Thanks for the tip. I use it quite a bit myself. I'll have
to pass this on to the boys.

Easy enough if you're from northern New Mexico to slip "ya'll" in, but I'll
tell you right now it will NOT fool anyone if you have an accent from
northern New Jersey or Brooklyn, or you sound like the pregnant cop in Fargo.
