I'm from Cambridge... living in the desert heat of Tucson (for now)....
Love Cornwall... Relatives are from Derbyshire where they all seem to wear
flat caps and have big noses... But I'm sure that's a generalization
(LOL)....

That's funny, I'm the other way around. I'm an American who
married a Brit and I've met another one of the same who lives a
few miles away and has two girls. We've become great friends,
and even though her girls go to public school, they're really
sweet kids <g>.

I last lived in the UK at Mildenhall and used to go to Cambridge a lot to
shop. Very nice but awful parking.
Don't remember big noses in Derbyshire just some kind of caves with blue
stones -- it was one of those memorable school field trip.

Or, in the words of the "Colonel" from the movie
Chicken Run, in reference to the American Rooster
Rocky Roads (voiced by Mel Gibson):
"Pushy Americans! Always overpaid, oversexed, and
over here!"

Do the words Colonel and Colony come from the same root word? (would that be colon? ;-)
Maybe not, (I'm trying to figure out how) but the two words look so similar.
