With Mark's accident we are in the position to be buying a new booster
seat for Janene. Janene is six and about 45 pounds. She will be in
this seat to about 100 pounds, so we need a seat to that weight. I know
many of you have done research on this, can you share what you
discovered. Cost is only of limited consideration, becuase the other
guy has admitted all liability (or his insurance has) and we can
basically say "this is the seat we want" and they will have to reinburse
us for it.

This is the seat we love. It is really light, easy to move, comfortable
and reclines with the seat. Good luck. Anna

Have you checked Consumer Reports? The last report was May 2003 with an
update in Sept. (The updates might just be a special notice on a model.)

They should be in your library. Also the book with the year's reviews in it
should be easily available in bookstores.

Yeah, I did. I think we might go with this one...

When we needed to move our daughter out of her car set and into a booster
seat, we did a lot of research. I felt best about the Britax line--was able
to find them locally (SLC), but I know they also have a web site. The model
we bought works for children up to 100 pounds. It's basically a
belt-positioning booster, and it's really easy to use (moving in and out of
the car, etc.) Good luck, and I hope everyone's fine after the accident.

What happened Joylyn? Is Mark okay? Do you need anything? Let us know. I haven't done any research on the latest boosters. I can't help you in any intelligent or knowing way here, but let us know if you need anything.....else that is ;)

Mark is fine. He and our brand new car and all of his musical equipment
was hit a few weeks ago as he was coming home from San Diago. The car
and music equipment and Janene's booster were/are a total loss, so we
are, just two months after the last car buying adventure, again buying a
car. Janene's booster seat cannot even be removed from the vehicle.
However, was told that because Janene was not in it (thank the
goddesses) the car seat is not covered by insurance. After much fuss by
me, they are covering it. Can't think of worse logic.
