I'm putting in a hard wood floor in the kitchen.

But first, the old floor has GOT to go.

Anyone have some hints for removing hideously ugly linoleum?

TIA~Kelly

Get a new puppy. They will happily eat your old floor, especially if you
occasionally say, "Bad puppy! Don't eat the floor!"

OH OH OH! I just got a call yesterday from SE Guide Dogs. We're having our

But I can't wait that long for teh linoleum to come up!

What I did was pull it all up then wetted down a section at a time and used
a putty knife to pry it off. The water didn't seem to damage the plywood
underfloor which is pretty thick. I think I rented one of those big sanders
too, but the water and putty knife worked best.

This has info on removing linoleum with asbestos but it goes into the actual
getting it off the floor and not just what to do about the asbestos aspect.

If you type "linoleum removal" into Google, you'll get more.

I understand there is a machine you can rent for this that cuts the job to a
fraction of the time. Sorry if this is a repeat; I have a lot of mails to
read here!
