Dee, you wonderful, loving Mom!!!!!!!

She probably IS considered to need special permission. What kind of
relationship do you have with the SPED people? Maybe it won't be a big deal.
If it seems to be, I'd consider going right to the Superintendent. It's so
close to the end of the school year it might not even be a problem.
