Collectible Card Games

"There is NO gift you can give him that equals the gift of respecting his interests and passions."

Kelly Lenhart

Kelly/mina's responses, concerning Yu-Gi-Oh:

[a dad wrote:] I'm a duelist. I've got my own deck. We have a blast dueling at our house. Yes, it took me a while to learn, and I can rarely ever beat Dylan, but I have a lot of fun playing. The "hard" was worth it.

LOL! I'm glad I'm not the only parent who has learned to play.

I must admit, when we were regularly going to games, I got a lot of points from the other kids 'cause I had my own deck and could play. Especially since I also had two babies along for the ride. I was the "cool" mom!

[a mom had written earlier:] I am ready for his Obsession with these cards to be gone.

Would you say that about reading? Because he's doing a lot of it. Would you say that about math? Lots of math in Yugioh. Would you say that about deductive reasoning and cooperative play and well, you get the point.

Real learning comes from play. And it stays longer and means more.

Plus, it's FUN! And it's important to him. And there is NO gift you can give him that equals the gift of respecting his interests and passions.
