Nancy Wallace's "Child's Work: Taking Children's Choices Seriously" is my
favorite.

Also, John Taylor Gatto's "Dumbing Us Down"

Linda Dobson's "The Art of Education",

i would ask her to order anything by john holt or john taylor gatto!
also, the moore (raymond and kathy i think)
are pretty unschooly till age 10, 11, 12...
