About 6 months ago I posted a question on the list about other
parents' success in their kids learning how to use the toilet without
coersion. I'm happy to say that our now 3yr9mo old has started to use
the toilet on her own! We did break down and follow the advice of one
site on toilet learning and offerred a jellybean for actually using
the toilet, but we seem to have gotten the timing of the reward right
because she started actually to urinate in the toilet shortly after
the reward was offerred. She's still working on using the toilet for
her BMs, but progress is being made!

Re: [Unschooling-dotcom] Unschooling toilet-learning Pete-
That's great news about your daughter's success with toilet learning. We're not even close to that point yet with our daughter, but I know that you're doing it the right way. When they're ready, they'll do it, and if we push them before they're ready we'll have so much more to deal with than just changing diapers for a little while longer.

Hooray for you and your little one! That is an acomplishment.
