Event: Home Educators Fair

The Connecticut Homeschool Network (CHN) is co-sponsoring a Homeschool Fair
with Middlesex Community College on Saturday, May 31, 2003 from 9:30 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. at Middlesex Community College in Middletown, CT. This fair will
provide an opportunity for veteran and potential home educators to survey a
variety of products, services, and programs available to them from
educational materials suppliers, regional museums, and nonprofit
institutions. Workshops will be conducted on Connecticut Homeschooling Laws,
Beginning Homeschooling, Unschooling and many other topics. Workshops will
also be offered for children. Sam Blumenfeld author of "Trojan Horse in
American Education," Ann Ohman, and Dr. Isabel Lyman are featured speakers.
Dr. Peter Lawler will also present a workshop on Drug-Free Alternatives for
ADD/ADHD.


At the door admission for CHN members is $25 per person or $35 per couple
and $10 children same household. Admission for non-members is $30 per person
or $35 per couple and $10 children same household. Preregistration is being
taken until May 10 and is less money than at the door admission. Lunch will
be available in the cafeteria. There is plenty of free, onsite parking. No
baby-sitting service will be provided for our children, who are welcome to
attend.


CHN is a statewide, independent, online-based homeschool community, that is
dedicated to sharing information, knowledge, resources and support for
homeschool families. CHN was founded in 1995 and currently has a free
newsletter circulation list of approximately 1300 Connecticut homeschool
families. It is the first and the largest online-based homeschool network
