If there are families here who purchased or who will receive for Christmas
the boxed set of the extended version of The Fellowship of the Ring (with the
bookends), IF you do not have gaming-children, Kirby begs me to beg you to
let him have the few collectible cards that come with that.

I didn't know about the playing cards when I opted for the four-DVD set
without frills. He's greatly troubled about that, and asked me please to ask
my homeschooling friends who might have just lost the cards, given them to
young children who don't need them, or used them for bookmarks or some such.

We could trade other card-stuff, or negotiate for some compensation to those
who might be willing to part with the cards.

And he wouldn't mind having more than one set if that's a possibility.

He's getting involved in playing that game, his main interest is Faramir, and
apparently the cards in that set are unavailable otherwise.

Thanks!

There's one that also includes the national geographic special about New
Zealand as Middle Earth, and two bookends (like the kings on the river), and
if Kirby's correct, a couple or three collectible playing cards which aren't
available elsewhere.

I don't need bookends. I think bookends are for people who don't have enough
books.
And the national geographic special is available from Netflix.
But I didn't know about the cards...

You are SO right!
How do you fit books just between those things on a shelf?
What's wrong with one stack holding up the other?

Deb L, who has Ray Bradbury holding up Dean Koontz and Stephen King.

I dont have Ray, but the other two fellas I have plenty of.. I just started
Dean Koontz' Doorway to Heaven ( or something like that).. I recently read
The Green Mile.. I had seen the movie, but hadnt read the book.. Of course
the book was better, but the movie was pretty true to it. I also like James
Patterson.. I want to get Four Blind Mice ASAP.. maybe Santa will help me out
:-)

My boys can't wait for Two Towers.. they are counting down the days.
