I would urge anyone interested in an alternate view of justice to read
the following article. It gives an example of how restorative justice
can be applied to criminal problems. I, as you might imagine, believe
that these same methods can be used for offenders with much more serious
offenses too. In any case if the topic interests you check it out.

Here is another site to answer questions regarding how many people are
incarcerated in the United States compared to other countries....per 100,000.
Quite shocking really. We will hit 2,000,000 prisoners in February of 2000. We
are world leaders. We share the honors or shame with Russia, Ukraine, Singapore
and South Africa.
