I think you'll improve things by leaving her alone more.
Even really nice positive comments are felt as "pressure," by most people.
Try reading "The Explosive Child," the ideas in there might be really
useful to you.
I can tell you I've been there - done that - and, speaking from experience
(my oldest is about to turn 18) - the greatest gift you can give your
daughter may be to back off - don't coach her and don't observe her. Treat
ALL her activities the way you'd treat it if she was "just" playing with
dolls or something.

My library has that one. Maybe yours does. Then you can see whether it's
going to help before shelling out the money.
