Cameron's schooled friends envy his freedom, but they've all bought into the
necessity of school in order to "succeed". To have "good" jobs and make lots
of money. To have a huge house and expensive carsssssss. One of them even
INSISTS that you SHOULDN'T like your job!---that it's just a job and the
source of income!

We're trying to impart to Cameron that if you cut out the high mortgages and
car payments and credit cards that you don't need to even MAKE that much
money.

When we move (two years?), the new house will be mortgage-free and the cars
will be paid for. Power will be provided by the sun, and maybe wind. We're
debating the need for health insurance (we're all too damn healthy!). We will
barely need an income, although my husband and I LIKE to work at *some*
things (---But we'd both do those things for no pay. <G>). How "successful"
(their term) does one need to be?

It's a shame that all those kids are going into and coming out of school with
that drummed into their heads. But the envy in their eyes when they see
Cameron's life.....I think somewhere in the back of their minds is the
niggling thought that maybe, maybe....

Oh Kelly, that sounds so great, your new house. I am just starting to try and get that whole idea into my dh's head. I want so bad to be on a farm and he keeps saying, but how will we earn a living? To me there are soooo many sources,,,I want to have a petting zoo for little kids and if we get the farm cheap we can live on very little income.
But this must be so out of the box for him, (again), ya see if my parents would have encouraged my dreams I would probably be on my farm and not in a suburban type house with mortgage and debt! At least I own my van,,,baby steps right?
Good job Kelly!
