Sick sick sick. I would not find this a matter for complacency.
I hope I'm wrong, and the husband is way more outraged and firm on all this
than came across.

Some men just won't stand up to their parents. My husband has never
had a (major) reason to, but I know how incredibly hard it would be
for him to do so.
