Question for everyone:
any interesting ideas for projects with leaves?

of course we're doing the regular scenic drives and making wreaths with
leaves...

Hi Diana:
I'm in Mass. and slowly finding homeschoolers here and there in our daily
travels. I have heard there are quite a few homeschoolers in New Hampshire.
I hope you are having a good year so far.

Lucky you! down here, we get no changes, I want so much to go north one year
so the boys can see the changes, but we always have to take any extra time at
Thanksgiving to be with family, all in Fl. or Jamaica, and by Christmas it is
to late, : (

Diana,
I don't know what ages your kids are, but I have a couple of ideas.
One is making "crowns" out of fall leaves. Fresh off the tree are best.
You just stick them together with toothpicks using them like straight pins.
does that make sense?
What about using them in collages with clear contact paper.
Or, getting that photo sensitive paper? It wouldn't have to be fall leaves
for that.
I've read other ideas, and I'm going to see if I can find where I read them,
and then I'll post them. It's getting to be that time around here too.

you can also mix glycerine with hot water. Then you take thin brances of
colorful leaves, crush the end of the stem to increase absorption, place the
stem in the glycerine solution. The stem will absorb the glycerine and the
leaves will stay colorful and pliable.

I knew someone would ask that. I can't remember but I'll look it up and try
to find the answer. (When all else fails, read the directions);-)
