But why?? Why did he need a good talking to. Would you have given an older
person a good talking to. I dont know. . . it just sounds pretty
disrespectful to me. . . although I could be mis-reading you here.

For me. . .a good talkin to denotes a level of hiearchy that I try to stay
away from with people, of any age. . . not that I am always succesful, but I
hate when I get a "talking to". I was just remembering one such incident that
happened to me just a couple of years ago (and I am 43) with disdain.
