Hi Tami,

I dont have suggestions for this year unfortuanately, but next year, when you
see the small peaches, pick off some where there are too many on one bush. .
. leave the best looking peach. I know this is so hard to do but it will save
your tree in the long run.

I've seen people prop up the limbs with boards. If you pick them to early they sometimes have no flavor. If you put them in a brown bag with apples you can ripen them.

Lovemary,
Thank you! It might sound silly, but I was so hurt when I saw the broken
limb. I raised these from the pits of peaches a dear friend had given us.
This is the first year I've gotten peaches :) and they are the best Ive ever
ate! I will do that next year they are very precious to me :)

Take an old garden hose and cut it in pieces. Then string wire through the
hose and put the hose around the limbs. Pull all the pieces together in the
middle of the tree, sorta like a wagon wheel. You can also put boards under
the limbs to prop them up but we found that with little kids around the
wiring method worked better because the kidlets and the dog kept running
into the boards.

Actually, I think many varieties of pears are supposed to be picked before
they get soft. They'll get mushy if you wait. We've got d'anjous, at
least I think that's what it is, and it has to be picked at least as soon
as they start to change colour.

I have one pear tree thats starting to turn a slight red. One thats just
green. These are far from even soft. I am going to try a few suggestions,
see what works best.
