I was going to suggest this site too (as well as the
last suggestion) but I still have a few others (I
really really love to shop!!)
For cool science stuff: http://sciencestuff.com/nav/

Stuff (mostly to raise) ants, worms, butterflies, etc.
http://www.letsgetgrowing.com/

(I just got an order from discount school supply (the
last suggestion) yesterday and looked at it while my 2
year old napped - then put it back in the box and left
it on the living room floor. She found it when she
got up from her nap and came running down the hall
yelling "Santa came!")

Fun magnet stuff:

A-Z Home's Cool Homeschooling product site

I know that feeling myself. The big brown UPS sleigh pulls up...
Scholastic Books! YES! Even in red and white boxes. Ho Ho Ho!

$30 minimum...
Well let's see... if we give magnets for the next several birthday parties
that could cover that little technicality EASILY!

I forgot about that (believe it or not I did order $30
of magnet stuff.) But - discount school supply
http://www.earlychildhood.com/Store
has many (but not nearly all) of these magnet
products. One of my favorite is a 'floating' magnet
toy - but my 2 year old's favorite is a simple magnet
wand - both are at discount school supply. They also
have these really cool water wheels that work with
water or sand (about $3) and a huge selection of
paints etc. Their free paper catalog has lots of craft
ideas at the bottom of most pages too.

Don't know if anyone else posted this yet.

I just posted this link to another list - it's for
free textbooks (you pay S&H). We just got our first
order and plan to use science books for reference,
reading about animals, planets, plants, etc. and
experiment ideas. The literature books have some
great literature in them! Right now they don't have
too much below third grade level but you may want to
check them out. http://www.emcd.net/insights/
