I don't really know anything about the relationship, but I do know my niece
had shingles just recently, and she did have chickenpox as a child.

Shingles is the dormant chicken pox virus that is still in your body. It can come out when your body is stressed. The theory is that if you can't get the pox, you can't get shingles.
