I have a very negative impression of the Amazon rare book search
capability. Bibliofind used to be consistently better / cheaper.

Have you ever used abe.books? >>

Hi, Betsy,

I sell used children's books as for "egg money" and was disgusted to find
out what happened to Bibliofind, not only due to the increase in prices but
because their search engine is much less useful, right now. :-( I've
bought things from ABE in the past; no problems. It seems the best bet, now
that Bibliofind is "gone", might be www.bookfinder.com, which searches for
both new AND old copies of your target book, and has a very wide range.
There's another good site, http://www.addall.com/, that many of my fellow
Used Bookies use....I haven't bought from them, though. And there's
www.tomfolio.com.

AND there's a brand new Ebay-clone JUST for books, paper, and ephemera,
with free listing for the remainder of the year, but I can't quite remember
the name, so I'll have to go dig it up and get back to you. :-)

P.S. When typing in www.bookfinder.com, don't accidentally put an "s" after
bookifinder (thus creating "bookfinders" ) unless you're in the mood for a
sleazy thrill. <g>

Thanks, Becky! Now I can find either books OR sleazy thrills whenever I
need 'em.

(And since it's also possible to shop for fabric online, I'm now in hog
heaven.)
