Where can I find your website? I have never understood why spanking is
considered an acceptable way to discipline a child. To me it is teaching
violence. We tell our children not to hit each other and then go around
hitting them. All of my Christian friends of course disagree with me
because they say the Bible tells them they must spank their children.

The Bible does not say this at all. My website is:

http://www.angelfire.com/biz3/gatheringplace/discipline.html

Basically, it boils down to the fact that the Law of Moses, the
Torah, the first five books of the Bible, were considered to contain
every command necessary for one to be perfect. If you could follow
every command therein, you were considered right with God.
There are only three passages in those books that say anything
about childrearing, and NONE of them talk about spanking. So, if
the children of Israel were not required to spank in order to be
perfect before God, why should we?
