Is there a natural remedy for arthritis pain? I have it in my dominant hand, and possibly nerve damage (don't know what that could mean). The doc I'm seeing gave me Darvisit (sp), but I haven't taken any yet. I'm a scardy cat when it comes to drugs and all those "possible" side effects. ambersand

It's Darvocet...

If the pain is in your hands, try Chinese "meditation
Balls" that you manipulate in your hand. My dad had
very severe arthritis in his shoulders and elbows
(tennis) and began physical therapy that involved
daily stretching with what he calls his "rubber hose"
lol. He has a number of exercises that he does, and
explains that these help "break up" the arthritis,
whatever that means. All I know is that the man who
could not lift his arms higher than shoulder height
can now scratch his own back and toss a ball to the
grandkids. He has absolute mobility and no pain.

Yes, Ultimate Living has a wonderful Arthritis Formula. I have seen
it work wonders. It's not cheap, but its very effective, with no side
effects as compared with Darvoset, whose side effects can be
vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation, feelings of elation or
depression, hallucinations, headache, kidney problems,
light-headedness, liver problems, minor visual disturbances, skin
rashes, weakness, yellowed eyes and skin.

Glucosamine Chondroitin is good for joint pain. Um,
look it up on the internet, ok, because I've just
started taking it and I don't know much about it
except my dh brought it home for me sayuing his boss
swears by it. I have to look it up myself, actually...

Yes, it does work. But the Ultimate Living product I was talking
about has glucosamine sulfate, but not chondroitin, because they
could not find a source for chondroitin that was not contaminated
with bacteria. So they do not put chondroitin in their product.
Instead, they use a different combination of herbs that do the same
thing as chondroitin, and they still include the glucosamine.

Studies have shown that G.C. not only effectively
relieves pain but also helps to actually rebuild
cartilage. My mother, however, did find that it was
too hard on her digestive system. It certainly is
worth a shot, though!

um....marijuana is about to be legalized here...for
arthritis pain.
I hear it works pretty well.
I don't have arthritis yet, but it runs deep in my
family, so I don't know.
glucosamine (sp?) helps quite a bit for my sis and
uncle.
Helps joints in general, not just arthritic ones.

and labour pains... here in the UK it's being
researched with regard to MS sufferers... so an
extract of it may become available on prescription :-)
Has anyone seen the film about it, with Brenda Blethyn?
British film, bit obscure, can't remember the title...

30 yrs ago, my aunty was diagnosed with MS. She was a mother of 3
young children - She spent the next years worrying what would happen
to her children if the MS deteriated, how she would manage - what
life had in store for her. She even had an abortion (doctors advice)

The MS was mild and never did progress. She felt very lucky - but it
did not stop the worry.

Early this year her leg was giving her a lot of pain. So she went to
the doctors. Explained about her MS and sked if it could be related.
The doctor looked at her in disbelieve, and said he didnt know who
had diagnosed MS but she did not have it.........

My aunty is SO angry. 30 yrs of worrying about nothing.
