Linda...or anyone, what is happening with all her emails!
How do we stop this??

Valerie Stewart

She can't help it....a virus is sending out emails to anyone (anything, like
a list) that was unread mail the last time she shut down her computer. Just
don't open those attachments!

Couldn't the moderator set this list not to accept attachments at least
temporarily till Linda's computer chills out on the mass mailings?
Wouldn't that bounce all the mail right out of here?

We're working on it. Yahoo won't let me in tonight. I've emailed Helen...
she's trying from her end.

I finally got through - she's off the list. Sorry it took so long.

the problem is the virus send the mail out like it is a personal message, not through the user group. If you are using outlook express, you can set up a filter to automatilcally remove the infected e-mail.
Click on tools and select message rules mail.
select new mail rue
select where the message body contains specific word
Select delete it for the action
in the rule description box, click on contains specific words and edit it to say "look to the attachment".
edit rule name
click ok

after you do this, everything with the virus will automatically go straight to the deleted items folder
