I went to World Magazine because I wanted to check out the first article
(William Bennett as author?) and the link only takes me to a registration
point and then when I did a search it told me they had no articles written
by a William Bennett.

Did this link work for other folks??? I was curious as there use to be a
William "Bill" Bennett on this list (and HEM or maybe only on HEM??) and we
had some lively discussions and his writing was quite interesting. Anyone
know if they are one and the same?

Hi Lynda --

I assumed this was William J. Bennett, ex-secretary of education. ("A Child's
Book of Virtues" author.) Was he on this list? (Like, was he reeely
conservative?)

Lynda

The Bill Bennett that was on the list was a "fundy" (he called himself this
and he and I discussed "good" fundies and 3Rs, so this was not a bad thing
<g>). He was very conservative and left (don't know if he returned) to join
a Christian men's homeschooling list (I think, mommy brain is kinda foggy
sometimes). At any rate, I think he wrote articles and just wondered if it
were one and the same.

I think you guys are remembering Ben Bennett, from Indiana. Ben still works
for NHEN and is currently on a few of their lists But Ben is not Bill. ;)
