My Life as a Dog is a coming of age movie, filmed somewhere in Europe.  One of the girls in the film is beginning to develop breasts, so it deals a little with her dealing with that issue.  She is a tomboy and one of the best athletes in their little town.  There is a scene where she opens her blouse and asks a boy what he thinks about her breasts.  Also, there are a couple of scenes with a married couple that probably wouldn't make it into a G rated movie.  But I much prefer my kids to see something like Life as a Dog than most of the drivel that seems to be on prime time TV.

Maybe if children are allowed to have fun while they're children
they'll know how to have fun when they're adults.

Ones we try to never miss:

ER
Providence
CSI
The West Wing
Whose Line Is It Anyway?

We also like to catch:

7th Heaven
JAG
Touched by an Angel
Judging Amy

Kids will watch them all with us, but not always. My oldest also loves to watch Emergency Vets on Animal Planet, as well as the Croc Files. Disney Channel and Toon Disney are big here... some Cartoon Network (I don't like the new cartoons they show, so they don't watch those). Tom and Jerry is one of their favorites. Noah likes to watch Dora the Explorer and Bob the Builder on Nick Jr.

ER
Touched by an Angel
Who Wants to be a Millionaire
Weakest Link - new show - pretty good!

Kids also like Wild Thornberries, Brady Bunch, Real Kids Real
Adventures (DSC channel) and Mega Movie Magic (DSC Kids channel).

My favorite reruns are Seinfeld, Cosby Show, and Magnum PI. I also
like watching the old LA Law shows, thinking how "on the edge" they
were when they came out!

ER
Touched by an Angel
Who Wants to be a Millionaire
Weakest Link - new show - pretty good!

Weakest Link drives me nuts, but I still find myself
watching it... They decided to do an American version
of it, and the American hosts they auditioned didn't go
over half as well as Anne Robinson :-)

Most sci-fi stuff, and ER... I'd watch more 'home-grown' stuff but dh
doesn't like these and I prefer not to spend the time. I'm seriously
into Roswell right now (I'm a sucker for teenage stuff!)
Occasionally I'll watch the BBC news channel, if I'm feeling drained
or bored...

Tracy

Bonnie Painter

My husband and I watch NYPD Blue, Once and Again, and ER. The kids watch
Nick Jr. and we all love Crocodile Hunter (me especially, but that's a
different kind of love <g>)

Let's see, on the "regular" stations we watch game shows (Millionaire, Wheel, Jeopardy) and then silly shows like Titus and Dharma & Greg, oh and the kidlets like that new one the name of which escapes me, My Wife and Kids??? maybe???

Now most of our tv watching is Discovery, HGTV, History, Animal Planet and the rest of the learning type stations.  The kidlets love the cooking channel when they go different places and cook regional foods.

The number one channel in this house is usually Disney. Naomi loves Zorro and the mickey mouse club the most. But for the rest of this week until late saturday afternoon, she has been grounded from the tv and rollerblading for disobedience. At the end of April, the cable goes off totally and after that there is like one channel with the antenna? so I think the tv will be packed up...unless we leave it out for her videos for she has quite a collection of them.
