Tammy Graves

I personally know of 3 women that had these tests done (all for the same reason,
they were over 40 so their doctors recommend this).. 2 out of the 3 ended up
misscarring because of this. The 3rd came very close to misscarring but
recovered ok and happlily had a healthy baby.

If I ever have children beyond my 40th birthday, I will not have this test
done... period!

If I could turn back the clock, neither would I.
We were lucky. We had a wonderful healthy baby. It wasn't untill I
had actually had the test that I realised that no matter what, this
baby was going to be born naturally.......

My sister is 33 and she was told she needed an amnio done because she was
past 30. She decided against it but she worried that maybe she should have it
done. The doctors really scared her. Personally, she had enough problems thru
her pregnancy (her uterine wall tore at around 6 mos. & caused vag. bleeding
and she was put on bedrest to let it heal itself which it did), begun
pre-term labor 3 mos. ahead of schedule and had to be given meds to stop it 3
times (they worked the last time and she went to 2 days before her due date),
etc.. The amnio may have caused her to miscarry and believe me, no matter
what she would love Bailey Kaylene no matter what and is so happy that Little
Miss Bailey made her arrival this past Easter Sunday (she is fine with all
her fingers and toes, beautiful curly hair and is perfectly fine in other
areas....the doctors had my sister CONVINCED that Miss Bailey would have
Down's! (not that it would have mattered but my sis sure did not the added
stress of worrying).

God was watching over your sister and congratulations on Bailey's birth. What a wonder to be born on Jesus' Resurrection Day. IT is something to remember...now tell your sister to relax and enjoy her daughter and grow along with her.

Thank you!!

I told everyone that even though I am Jewish I got the best Easter
present....my niece. I called my sister every day of her bedrest time just to
keep her company (she is in TX and I am in OH). My sister's bday occasionally
falls on Easter Sunday so even though she and Bailey don't share the same
bday they will share the same holiday (my sister is a Christian as is all of
my family except for me, I am a Jew By Choice married to a Jew by Birth, and
for my other sister who is Wiccan).
