I was last in Sarasota when I lived there as a baby, so I can't be much help,
but I do know that there is a well known art school there, Ringling Art
College. I'd bet they have a really good gallery that's open to the public.

I just now looked at one site on-line and it lists some pretty neat stuff.

Museum of Art :) There's also a museum of the circus, that's got to be fun.
Anyway, it looks like there's plenty of good stuff there. Reading about it
makes me want to revisit my babyhood :)
