There is hope, Debra.  Eldest son loved to be read to as a small child but didn't do much, if any, reading on his own.  But lo and behold, he grows up, gets married and now devores books at almost the same rate as mummy who would rather read than eat!

I have been an avid reader since I taught myself at age 4.I am mom to 4
sons,all of whom were raised with me reading to them,tons of books
available,etc...Well,the older 3 hardly ever read anymore,except college
books,and my youngest son Nick who has tourettes,could care less about
books.As a voracious reader myself I have struggled with this,but I will not
force my son to read .I do provide lots of interesting stuff which he may pick
up and look at and even read a bit.But he really could care less.My husband
does not like to read,and only reads occasionally.I grew up in a house with
books and a mom who is a big reader like myself.My 2 brothers don't read
though,so I say to each his own.....Deb
