When my children were about 3 and 5-6 (2.75 years apart) I yelled at
them for the first time and my youngest put her hands on her hips and
faced me and said, "Gwownups shouldn't talk that way to chiwdrwens!" I
ALWAYS remembered that and tried NOT to yell.

Holy cow! You managed to not yell at your kids for the first 5 or 6
years? I take my hat off to you.

I've met Susan and her family, and I believe she could go five years without
yelling. Her husband is really sweet and her girls are off the scale of
peaceable and helpful and interested in things. Probably a lot of that is
due to Susan being such a good mom and wife.

Puts me to shame, but I compensate by...

(thinking...)
playing recorder, or something.
