How people change, from unschooling
Sandra Dodd
Amy Childs is doing a series of 15-minute podcasts on unschooling topics. I’ve been in lots of them.
They’re here:
She’s working on one now and already has it nearly finished, so I will only get to fill in the corners and cracks of it, but I’m being interviewed Monday, and Amy said it’s okay for me to share the questions in public. I LOVE that she sent me a list of things she might ask. Sometimes it’s just “Okay, Talk.” And I can, but this is cool, like a little obstacle course, or like I’m harmonizing with her song of ideas. (Maybe bad analogies, but it’s like a game or puzzle, more than an open-ended “what do you think?” and I’m liking it.
http://unschoolingsupport.com (Oh my gosh. there are some there I hadn’t heard!!)
For the upcoming session, though, Amy wrote:
Some questions you could ponder:
- Why do parents need to change in order to unschool well?
- What are the costs of not being able or willing to change/grow/heal?
- What are the benefits of change?
- in what ways do people delude themselves or try to avoid growing/changing?
I figured some of you might have fun thinking about them, too, and if you want to throw out some ideas here, that would be cool.
