Hi,
Here's something else I am not sure if I address or leave alone:
I overheard my daughter (age 16) say to one of her friends from school about making plans in a lighthearted way, "Well, I'm basically a drop-out, so I'm probably free."
Talk about word choices? or leave it alone?
Thanks,
Lorna

Leave it alone. Light-hearted banter. And you overheard it; it wasn't intended for your ears.

You and her have not even deschooled ! I would sound like a lecture most likely.
That you want to teach her about what words to choose and to choose the right one!
I would just let it go and not say anything . If she was having a conversation about it with you that would have been different.
I still would not give her a talk about word choices. I would talk about what you guys are doing, learning in a different way than school!
