My home-schooled 7 year old LOVES this show. After watching the latest episode, he went up to my wife and said:

"Mommy, after the big bang, the universe expanded in less than a second! And there wasn't even any light at first."

I highly recommend the show

There are two similar shows on Discovery -- and it took me a bit to
puzzle it out. One is "How the Universe Works" that had Stephen
Hawking in it briefly. The first show was about the Big Bang.

The other is Stephen Hawking's "Into the Universe". It was only 3
episodes long and repeats aren't scheduled for some reason. There are
clips at Discovery:

which might be the whole thing in 3-4 minute segments. (They'll keep
playing with a commercial in between.)

Thanks for this info, Joyce. I"m in the process of reading A Briefer
History of Time by Hawking.
