Hi, I'm Noelle (new member...not-so-new unschooler!)
Literary Child
Hi everyone! I'm Noelle, unschooling mama to three young children (ds5,
dd3, dd2). I actually have never read any of Holt's books, or any other
books on unschooling for that matter. When I was pregnant with my first
child, I knew I would homeschool. About a year later, I heard about the
unschooling philosophy and immediately knew it was for us. I was so glad to
have heard about a concept that seems like it was made just for me and my
family! I often reflect on how much I wish I had been unschooled as a
child. :) I've never been one to conform, so for me, there was never any
pressure to please anyone else. (We're an AP vegan family, so we're used to
not being mainstream!) I work from home so I can be there for my kids, and
I wouldn't have it any other way! I run a reading club and literary
activity magazine for children. (I'm always excited to receive suggestions,
so if anyone wants to recommend their favorite children's novel as a reading
selection, please share it with me...email me offlist with your
suggestions!) I'm very glad to have found this list of like-minded
families!

Thanks for the welcome Sandra, and I'll check out the link!
On an unrelated note...any idea why some of the groups messages I'm
receiving are coming to me in ultra-tiny almost-impossible-to-read font??

If you hold down the CTRL key on your key board and turn the small wheel in
the middle of your mouse,
the print size will change - it will either get larger or smaller -
depending on which way you turn the wheel.

Click on the radio button that says Do not convert to HTML.

If that doesn't work, then it's either a temporary Yahoo glitch or
your email program. You should be able to set the default size in
your email program's preferences. There should also be a keyboard
combination that will increase the size. Check under Edit or View for
something that says Font, Increase Size.

Hi Joyce! I'm pretty sure it's not my email program, because only some of
the emails are coming in the weird tiny size. But I just changed my
preferences in the group to "do not convert to html". We'll see if that
works! Thanks so much!! I'd never have thought of that!

Hi Angela! Wow, that's a cool trick, I've never heard of that! Not
everything is tiny though, so I'd like to fix the problem of the emails
being delivered in such small font...as only some of them are. But that's a
really neat shortcut to know offhand, thanks so much for the tip! :)
