It's so fun to see what some of you look like! If I
ever get it together to get some film developed (from
my undeveloped pile) and figure out how to scan in a
photo, then maybe we'll be on there too oneday.

Meghan :-)

I added a picture of me with Julian. The mess behind us is due to the fact
that we were in the process of moving when the picture was taken. We have a
new house and an entirely different mess now.

Who looks young? Who looks young?!!

Seriously...how old ARE people? I'm feeling VERY old this week.

Kathryn, who has a birthday coming up soon, is finding it a disturbing one,
and is annoyed with herself for finding it disturbing

My daughters are pretty young <g>. 7 and 4. I'm 35, so I'm probably on the
younger side of the Moms here, though as time goes on, I expect I'll have to
get used to that not being so.

But my picture's not up at the website yet, and I don't look young -- I was
never carded as a 21 year old, no one guessed when I started working that I
was 16, not 19 or 20. I married a guy 10 years older so I wouldn't die of
screaming boredom. <g>

Kathryn,

It's okay to find it disturbing, really!! I've had some of those birthdays, and I'm realizing that it's just part of my life to have birthdays are big marker points for me. They bring up lots of "stuff."

Just cruising toward 44.

47. I had a hard time with 45 -- because I figured definitely half my life
was over. Time keeps speeding up and I had the feeling the second half of my
life was going to speed by so much faster than the first half, I had about 10
years of "real" time left.

I'm okay with it now. My kids are 12 and 9. I figure I'll still be here
when they're 22 and 19.

On my 45th birthday, my daughter called to wish me a good one. I made some
comment about being on my way to somewhere, and she came back with, "Yeah,
you're halfway to 90." So that's what I told anyone who wanted to know my
age that year. Somehow halfway to 106 doesn't quite cut it. <g>

One of the most memorable birthday cards I have ever received was from my
brother almost nine years ago for my 35th. He wrote "So how does it feel to
be half over?"

It took me another 5 years to get me to go to the gym regularly.<G>

Had a doctor say, not too long ago,"Well, but your
life is half over.." I got irritated and stated "Let's
NOT be making predictions like this! You really don't
know."

You can que yourself to demise at a particular age by
predicting it and setting the internal clocks ticking.
I'm hoping that that doc did not set mine!! Some folks
should keep such thoughts to themselves. I plan to
live a LONG LONG LONG time. At least long enough to
know better...which I don't yet.
