I have a friend who lives in SC who described an interesting phenomenom. He
told about these women in the south who would say the most horrid things
about something, that was made, ostensibly, okay, because it was followed by
"Bless her heart!" "Emmeline Lou is such a slutty pig, and she smells, and
her children wear rags...Bless her heart!"

I was totally floored when my brother said he felt at home in
Savannah, GA. I was like WHAT? THE SOUTH! And he would say, no
really, they are so Puerto Rican! And now I know! In Puerto Rico
they'll finish it off with an "¡Ay, bendito!" which is more like "Oh,
blessed!".
