Apparently the spammer has already unsubscribed themselves. Sorry guys,
unless we go to "approved membership" we're vulnerable to these drive-by
adverts.

It's easier (for the List Owner Sandra and Moderating Me <g>) if we don't,
and we've had relatively few spammers so far.
Today, however, it's looking attractive. <g>

Yep, I'm on some of those, too. I don't mind the work, so if you all want to
petition our fearless leader (not too hard though, remember she's
recuperating ;) I don't mind.
We could ask potential members the Questions Three from Monty Python. <g>

It may be time to moderate new members for a post or two?

Pam,
There is an option to moderate new members only. Anyone can still
subscribe, but their initial messages will not go to the list until
approved by a moderator. If their first message is spam, you can then
ban them from the group without having the message go through.
I am "no mail" status for this list meaning I only read the posts on-
line which also means I cannot see the e-mail address of the spammer.
The moderator or any one else actually receiving the message by email
should forward the message to [email protected] and abuse@
whatever the domain was for the jayma818@m... (all that shows when
you read on-line) address.
Those steps should get their yahoo account closed so they can't use
it to spam again and will get the response address closed so they
can't benefit by receiving replies to their spam.

It's less work overall for everyone to just skip spam or delete it than for
moderators to have to go in periodically and switch new members to
unmoderated.

How did you get past our Statement of Faith?
Wasn't one of the items "I believe that Monty Python and the Holy Grail
should be owned by every family for the memorization of every boychild, so
that he may quote it evermore." ?
