Getting things done?

I totally get that too about asking my girls what they want to do
today. It's so hard when the house is needs pick up everyday all day
thru out and u want to play and explore and it becomes overwhelming
for me to think!! Glad to hear others out there have been there and
now are trying (as I am each day) to change the routine. I get so
embarrassed when my one older neighbor comes over to see and talk to
us and my house has NEVER looked they "way" my other friends houses
do.....My is clean BUT always has dishes to be done always my kitchen
table filled with half art supplies and art done and mail (to be read)
in a pile. Yes I feel better when I have played with them all day
here and there but still I am not happy looking at all that needs to
be done thru out the day. Until I had to take a mid-night job I use
to stay up late to get my important chores done before bed and it was
so quiet in the house and it felt so good in the mornings when I was
all set in my "head" to play all day!! Its like my head is clearer
when the chores are done.

Hi!
This is something I have a hard time with. I feel like I should get everything I need to do out of the way before I can have any fun. I am a perfectionist (something I have been working on getting rid of) and it is very hard for me to look at a messy house. Anyone have any suggestions to help me change my mindset. I feel my priorities are wrong. I have come a long way in the last year, but still have a "ways" to go!
