ThinkWell came out of philosophy discussions, and was launched by one interesting argument at a party. The birth of "philosophy practice" is documented in Bright Ideas and True Confessions: How and What To Do and Why which is somewhat outdated now, but that particular section is here. Documentation of the tussle that resulted in the "interkingdom anthropology" topic is documented in the first issue of ThinkWell.
