I asked my 5 year old: Me: What do you think about parents who spank their kids? Him: I don't know. Me: Well, do you think it's good? Him: No. Me: Why do you think they do it? Him: Because they're mad? Me: What do you think they should do instead of spanking? Him: Play with them?
I've just asked Brianna: "Spanking is bad because the kid will grow up in fear and if something happens, the kid could be to scared to tell you. There might be pros and cons, but the only thing the mom, dad, aunt or what ever adult it is that's doing the spanking —the only thing the adult is getting is someone to hit—but I don't see any good that comes out of it." Brianna's half sister is spanked. Brianna feels that Dayja (her half sister) is not as close as Brianna & I; she knows that there are things that Dayja is afraid of telling her mom. Brianna has always felt that the relationship between Dayja and their mom is not as close as Brianna's & mine. Dayja also has more fears.
