Brett Bowen passed away on January 30, 2024.

He was originally from the Barony of Loch Salan, in the Kingdom of Artemisia. He was made a member of the Order of the Laurel in Artemisia in 2005, a few years before he moved to the Outlands. Since moving here he lived in Caerthe, and received an Argent Heart for Kingdom service.

Young Angus was an eager percussion student under Sir Daveed & Master Sylvanus. In addition, he sought further instruction from Souhail Kaspar and many other notable musicians. Shortly after he moved to the Outlands, he became a full time musician. He performed with Tito Malaga (Flamenco & N African), Kai Lin Yong (world music), the Boulder band Sherefe (Balkan folk dance, middle-eastern + world music), and with the Outlands' own Sir Torin and his band Kara Nomadica.

In the Fall of 2023, Brett's health began to decline, with what turned out to be a serious but hidden malady. He went through a long illness until passing away in January. He was surrounded by family members and many friends, who played music for him to ease his passing.
