Hey, all! I posted earlier about suggested reading. Maybe I was too
specific about one type of book I was looking for. I'd love to read
something related to my life, but I am not just looking for that.

What books have made an impact in your life as unschooling families?
What books do you suggest for those new to unschooling?

Thanks - Tina

"The Teenage Liberation Handbook" by Grace Llewellyn

"Homeschooling Book of Answers: The 101 Most Important Questions
Answered by Homeschooling's Most Respected Voices" by Linda Dobson

"The Art of Education: Reclaiming Your Family, Community and Self"
Linda Dobson

"Dumbing Us Down: The Hidden Curriculum of Compulsory Schooling, Vol.
1" by John Taylor Gatto

"And the Skylark Sings to Me: Adventures in Homeschooling and
Community-Based Education" by David Albert

"Homeschooling and the Voyage of Self-Discovery" by David Albert

"Teach Your Own: A Hopeful Path for Education" by John Holt (1981)
revised and updated by Patrick Farenga as "Teach Your Own: The John

and investigate the world, without being taught," by John Holt

I think Frank Smith's book, _The Book of Learning and Forgetting_, is
very persuasive and it's a pretty short, light read.

I'll bet you that you can't read it and then run around quoting it to
people! <eg>

Thanks...that's the second time it's been recommended. I'll have to
see if I can get it through the library cooperative.

I recently read the above book and enjoyed it very much!

I have not had any success locating this book, yet. I really would
like to read this one and the one written for adults. (I can't think
of the name right now.)

Any suggestions...
