Re: [Unschooling-dotcom] RE:unschooling-dotcom egg allergies-help please!

Just a hint, I've learned from experience: Breast-feed as long as you
possibly can and seriously consider NOT vaccinating. Your baby will
receive most of his/her immunological benefit from being nursed.
You might also postpone feeding solids as long as you can and even then
stick to vegetables. No peanut butter for 2 years as one allergic
reaction can often signal other sensitivities.

I agree withthe below advice. I have one allergic son (who btw is greatly
improved over the years) and one who shows no signs of allergies. I am
allergic, my husband is allergic and his family has a LONG history of what
can only be undiagnosed food allergies (I'm adopted and have no family
medical history), all of his sister's kids have allergies. With our
second son (the unallergic) we postponed all solids until the middle of
hte second year, dairy for longer, eggs even longer, and soy even longer.
He has had no vaccinations. He has also NEVER been sick, besides viral
things that go around town, like the flu this winter (his was the
shortest, lightest case) and has never been seen by a dr for illness. I
know that a case study of one is not statistically significant, but he
also has none of the asthma that plagues me and my other son or any of the
skin problems that plague my husband and his side of the family.

Also, be aware that while breast feeding your baby can be sensitive to what
*you* are eating. I had to give up all dairy, eggs, soy, seafood, and nuts
while I was nursing. (That was fun:->)After those things had been eliminated
from *my* diet for a few weeks my dd was fine.
