It's so true. When my eldest son was in PS kindergarten, he was marked
absent w/o excuse when he had to go to relatives' homes during my chemo
treatments. There were some days when the relatives simply couldn't get him
to school. Besides, he needed the comfort and security of being with loved
ones at that time. Did the school care? NO. They informed me that the
unexcused absences would go on his (gasp) Permanent Record. As if I cared at
that point! :) I was too busy trying to keep my guts down and watching my
hair fall out in clumps! <bg> Geesh, just thinking about it makes me want
to give them all the old Bronx cheer. bbbbbbbpppppttttt.
