It's a huge online auction house where individuals can buy and sell items.
Some folks will take personal checks or credit cards for their merchandise,
but most want Cashier's Checks or Money Orders, as that they are guaranteed
payment. You can find everything from current collectibles (like tons of
beanie babies) to retro items, clothing, jewelery, hardware, art, games,
etc, etc. Most are gently used, but there is also a lot of new stuff
available. I bought some dragon beanies as party favors for my son's bday
coming up.
The castle I got from another fav. site, eToys.com. It's a really great
toy site for those of us with little ones who cannot sneak out to the store
without them very easily. It's like having a toy super-store at your
fingertips. I can shop when they are napping or after bedtime, get the
toys in the mail, and open the boxes when they are asleep as well. Then I
wrap them and hide them and they are never the wiser! He he...
I have a wish list going on etoys that I periodically add to or delete
from, or buy things from. It's a great way for me to put together lists
for my boys, complete with prices and pictures. You can convert your wish
list into a regisrty for friends and relatives who are online to use, but I
prefer to use mine to organize my own shopping. eToys is also a great
place to find unique and hard to find toys that are not at your local
Toy-R-Us. Our list includes a set of wooden "castle blocks," a great
wooden drum with a skin head, an instrument set that inclused wind AND
rhythm instruments that are very functional yet good for toddlers (hard to
find,) some really nice wooden peg puzzles, and hard to find videos.
A few other sites I enjoy for toy shopping are:
http://www.ttgo.com
Toys to Grow On
http://www.somedayisle.com/
Toys from Samedayisle
http://www.justpretend.com/
Fantasy, Make Believe, and Dress Up
http://www.gummylump.com/
Wooden toys and Blocks from Gummylump
For more grown up gift shopping I also like:

to name a few....:-)

Thanks for the shopping URLs. I too have trouble getting
away to shop -- I really don't like going in the evening.
I'd rather be at home getting my children ready for bed and
doing family things!
