Law? I don't agree that there is any law to multiply. Those kind of thoughts
are exactly why people who shouldn't have children end up having too many.
It's something that should have a LOT more thought than most people put into
it. Makes me sad when I hear someone obeying some law, instead of doing
what's right for their family.

God told birds and animals to multiply, and he told Noah and his sons to. I
don't think he told anyone else to.
(GENES 1:21) And God created great whales, and every living creature that
moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their
kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that
it was good.
(GENES 1:22) And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and
fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the
earth.
(GENES 9:1) And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be
fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

How about Gen 1:27-28?
"So God created man in his own image, in the image of GOd He created
him; male and female He created them. God blessed them and said to
them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue
it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over
every living creature that moves on the ground."
Having said that, I won't say that means that we today have a
commandment to be fruitful and increase in number, otherwise every
infertile couple would be breaking a commandment. I believe that
commandment was to Adam and Eve specifically. I do, however, believe
that the general attitude of the Bible is that children are to be
treasured, that they're wonderful blessings from God, and that we
should enjoy them and desire to have them.

Something I've always wondered about but never asked. Hopefully this won't
cause trouble. For those who believe in the Bible, how does one explain Adam
and Eve having children and then where did the other children come from. All
of Adam and Eve's kids? Multiplying among brothers and sister?

The reason why brothers and sisters shouldn't have children together
now is because they are so closely genetically related and therefore
more likely to have the same genetic mutations which leads to an
increased chance of defects.
Adam and Eve, however, were created perfect. Perfect bodies, no
genetic mutations at all. It took several generations for genetic
mutations to be a problem. Therefore, Adam's children could marry
and have children with each other with no chance of birth defects.
There was no God-given law to not sleep with brothers and sisters
until later on.

Thank you for the answer and I'm following so far. Now another question. How
do you know this about the explanation you gave me? Is it written in the
bible that this is the case or something someone taught you? And again,
thanks for the explanation. I've been to private catholic schools all my
life and whenever my doubtful questions were asked, I never got any answer
that seemed logical to me other than because that's the way it was. Any
chance I can ask some other things that I've wondered about in regard to the
bible without a war?

There were lots of cousins reproducing together in the history of the
world. Didn't it happen with wealthy/prestigious families in the
early U.S. who only wanted their kids to marry someone "proper" (ie,
someone from their own family)?

My dad is a retired biology teacher and a creationist. He hands down
all his Ex Nihilo magazines to me. I always have my hands on good
creation literature to enjoy.
The Bible doesn't come right out and explain genetic mutations, but
it does say that Adam and Eve were created perfect. We do know that
death and decay of the human body happened only as a result of Eve's
sin.
I know what you mean about not getting good answers about Bible
questions. Some people just seem to not want to really think things
through or ever consider anything that would allow anyone to label
them heretical.
